Mids give Raiders the cold shoulder

With another lopsided victory, Navy moved closer to capturing a second straight Patriot League regular season championship. The ninth-ranked Midshipmen have also announced themselves as a legitimate NCAA Tournament contender.

Sophomore standouts Casey Rees and Jack Ray led an impressive offensive performance as Navy routed Colgate, 16-9, on a chilly day at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Rees, a midfielder, continued his torrid shooting with three goals on rocket crank shots. Ray, a 6-foot-6, 261-pound attackman, scored two goals and dished off a career-high four assists.

Senior attackman Patrick Keena totaled two goals and an assist for Navy (8-2, 6-1), which remained tied with Army West Point (8-3, 6-1) and Loyola Maryland (8-3, 6-1) for first place in the Patriot League.
