COLLEGE PARK — Navy head coach Rick Sowell spoke admiringly on Monday about Maryland's ability to control possession and wear down defenses.
The Terrapins conducted a clinic on playing keepaway on Tuesday night at Maryland Stadium.
Attackman Colin Heacock led a balanced offense with two goals and two assists as fifth-ranked dominated possession and easily defeated No. 7 Navy, 10-5, before a surprisingly sparse announced crowd of 2,808.
"I'm really proud of our guys to get a win over a Top 10 opponent and certainly a really good team, in our opinion," Maryland head coach John Tillman said.
