Ken Niumatalolo and the Navy coaching staff continue to do a tremendous recruiting job finding and developing linebackers the last few years. The linebackers at Navy Academy Prep School (NAPS) were the strength of their defense last year. The only returning starting linebacker this season is junior SAM inside linebacker Daniel Gonzales. This group of new Mids linebackers provides depth and competition moving forward.
Inside linebacker Taylor Heflin was the defensive MVP and team captain at NAPS last fall. He was the team leader of the NAPS defensive unit. Heflin is a 6-1”, 230 pound inside linebacker from Wayne County high school in Georgia.
