Ken Niumatalolo spent this past Christmas at his home on Oahu and attended the Hawaii Bowl in support of his eldest son, who is a graduate assistant with the University of Hawaii football program.
Niumatalolo and wife Barbara then flew to San Diego to watch their youngest son play for Utah in the Holiday Bowl.
It was a foreign experience for the 12th-year Navy head coach, who has become accustomed to preparing for his own bowl game during that time of the year.
