Louis looking to make Navy boxing history

Kendell Louis first took up boxing as a freshman at Parkway Academy as a self-defense mechanism.

“At first, it was just to get the bullies off my back. I just wanted to learn the basics of how to throw a punch – you know a little one-two, one-two,” said Louis, who grew up in Miami. “I stuck with it because I enjoyed boxing and just felt at home in the ring.”

As a freshman at the Naval Academy, Louis considered playing sprint football in order to fulfill the sports period requirement. However, that boxing bug led him up to the third floor of MacDonough Hall.
