Led by Pat Spencer (Boys' Latin), Loyola Maryland men's lacrosse rakes in Patriot League awards

The No. 8 Loyola Maryland and No. 11 Navy men’s lacrosse teams, the top two seeds in the upcoming Patriot League tournament, picked up four of the conference’s six major awards announced Monday morning.

Greyhounds junior attackman Pat Spencer (Boys’ Latin) was named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Year, senior defenseman Foster Huggins was selected as Defensive Player of the Year, and junior Jacob Stover (McDonogh) was chosen as Goalkeeper of the Year. Midshipmen senior Joe Varello earned Faceoff Specialist of the Year honors.

Spencer is the first player in Patriot League history to win Offensive Player of the Year in each of his first three seasons and the third to earn that distinction three times overall.
