Navy women's basketball lost its Patriot League opener at Bucknell by three points on Dec. 30. The Midshipmen then embarked on an impressive winning streak that had them dreaming big.
"Our players have this idea they can win 17 games in a row in the league," Navy coach Stefanie Pemper said in late January. "More realistic people, like coaches, know how hard that is to do."
Navy finally fell again on Feb. 4 against Colgate, ending a run of nine consecutive conference victories. However, the Midshipmen still have a chance to post the best conference record in program history.
