Navy Midshipmen open their 135th football season at home against FCS Colgate from the Patriot League. This is the first match-up between the two programs since 1998 when Navy quarterback Brian Broadwater made his first start in a wide open 42-35 victory. Colgate finished last season with a 5-7 record. Navy has won all six games in the series.
