Emily Gibbons pretty much played a point guard role during her stellar career at Severn School. So it was somewhat of a surprise when she was switched to an interior position as a sophomore at Gettysburg College.
When Nate Davis took over as head coach prior to the 2015-2016 season, he evaluated Gibbons and felt she fit best in the program as a post presence on both ends of the floor.
"I was converted into a post player last year and that was quite an adjustment because I'd never really played that type of role before in my career," Gibbons admitted.
