At 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds with the ability to run sideline-to-sideline, rush the passer or drop into coverage, Fagot is exactly what the Midshipmen are looking for at MIKE linebacker. He’ll be a three-year starter and is considered a sure-fire professional prospect, likely to be taken in the 2022 NFL Draft.

There is no replacing a player of that caliber, but defensive coordinator Brian Newberry and inside linebackers coach P.J. Volker believe they have a young player capable of filling Fagot’s sizable shoes: plebe Will Harbour.

He fits the mold in multiple ways. He’s got size — 6-foot-1, 225 pounds — speed and the nasty streak that is necessary at the position that has traditionally led Navy in tackles.
