It is not uncommon for the sports of baseball, football, basketball and lacrosse to be represented in the Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame class.
Sports broadcasting, racquetball and extreme sports are a bit more rare.
A broad spectrum of the sporting world will be covered when five deserving individuals are inducted next month. Brooks Barnard, Dave Johnson, Tim Mealey, Dave Norton and Kevin Slade will be formally enshrined when the 27th annual Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame banquet is held on October 11 at Michael’s 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie.
“We are excited to induct another diverse class that represents the wide range of sports our county residents pursue,” said Chris Smith, president of the Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame.
