BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Ed DeChellis knew he had his work cut out for him when he became the men's basketball coach at the Naval Academy in time for the 2011-12 season.
Military schools bring their own recruiting challenges, and since DeChellis took over the Patriot League has added two new schools, Loyola and Boston University, in a one-bid league that now has 10 schools.
While DeChellis is optimistic about the upcoming season, that rosy outlook was not shared here on Thursday during the men's basketball media day at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
The Midshipmen were picked to finish 10th and last among coaches and sports information directors in the Patriot League.
