Davidsonville resident Pat Spencer named top attackman by USILA

LOYOLA MEN’S LACROSSE: Pat Spencer (Davidsonville, Boys Latin) became the first player in Loyola University Maryland history to earn the Lt. Col. J.I. (Jack) Turnbull Award as the nation’s top attackman, and he was one of two Greyhounds to earn First-Team All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) in the awards announced Thursday.

Spencer was joined by defender Foster Huggins, giving Loyola two first-team members for the first time since Mark Frye and Jamie Hanford earned the recognition after the 1998 season.

Jay Drapeau was a third All-American for Loyola, picking up second-tea

m recognition following a record-breaking season in the Greyhounds’ midfield.
