TULSA – Commissioner Mike Aresco is not at all surprised that Navy went into Saturday's night game undefeated in its inaugural season as a member of the American Athletic Conference.
"I thought Navy would be very competitive," Aresco said in the press box prior to Saturday night's game against Tulsa. "It shaped up as one of the best teams Navy's had in a long, long time."
Quarterback Keenan Reynolds and nose guard Bernie Sarra, the team co-captains, have led Navy to an undefeated start in the American Athletic Conference. The Midshipmen (8-1) are No. 16 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, highest of any school in the league.
