NAVY MEN'S GOLF: Navy's Griffin Peters carded a 1-under par 69 in the final round of the Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club to secure a top 30 finish, while the Mids closed out the 54-hole event by logging its low score (295, +15) on Sunday to take 15th overall (302-309-295=906).
After opening the tournament with a 7-over par 77 on Friday, Peters turned things around. He turned in a 2-over par 72 in the second round before posting his 69 on Sunday. He used four birdies to help him jump 21 spots in the final standings to lead the way for the Mids, placing 30th overall (218).
