NAVY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Darius Faulk's steal and layup with 13.5 seconds remaining gave host Hofstra a 64-63 lead as the Pride picked up a 65-63 win over Navy in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
Sarita Condie and Taylor Dunham each scored 17 to lead the Mids and Ashanti Kennedy contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Hofstra fell behind by eight, 15-7, in the first period. Condie scored seven of the Mids points. But the Pride would rally in the second period, outscoring Navy by a 25-15 margin to take a 41-36 lead at the break.
