NAVY FOOTBALL: The Navy football team, which hosts South Florida on Saturday at noon, received 15 voting points, up six points from the previous week, in the USA Today/Coaches poll. Navy received the 31st most votes this week, just two points behind California. No. 25 UCLA has 95 voting points.
Navy received three voting points two weeks ago in the Associated Press poll, but has been left off the ballots the past two weeks. Teams receiving votes in the AP poll include Texas A&M, North Carolina, USC, BYU, Georgia, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Appalachian State, Cal and Washington State.
