Sarah Childress can remember a day when she was feeling down. Word spread among her eight classmates on the Navy women’s lacrosse team and they all climbed multiple flights of steps to visit Childress in her dormitory room on the eighth floor of Bancroft Hall.
“Every single one of them came all the way up to the eighth floor and brought me snacks. We sat there chowing down on ‘Dub Tubs’ from Ben & Jerry’s and they cheered me up,” Childress recalled.
“There have been so many times when one of us was having a bad day and our teammates picked us up.
