Clear sailing for Navy's Reynolds

The good news out of Ricketts Hall on Monday is that quarterback Keenan Reynolds did not sustain a serious injury and is slated to start on Oct. 24 when Navy hosts Tulane.

Reynolds suffered a left leg injury during the second quarter of Saturday's loss to Notre Dame that knocked him out of the game for a while. He left the stadium and underwent X-rays at the football indoor practice facility on campus.

Those images showed no damage, which was why team trainer Jim Berry cleared Reynolds to return in the second half. Reynolds directed the offense for two possessions in the third period, but gave way to backup Tago Smith for the team's lone possession of the fourth quarter because the Midshipmen trailed by 17 points with 9:48 remaining.
