POTOMAC — Billy Hurley III acknowledges he might have a slight advantage over his fellow PGA Tour professionals during the Quicken Loans National. That's because the Annapolis resident has significant experience playing the golf course that will host the tournament.
Hurley routinely practices at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm and has played two competitive tournaments there.
When Hurley initially turned pro in 2006, one of the first events he played was the Booz Allen Classic at TPC Potomac. The 2004 Naval Academy graduate missed the cut after shooting rounds of 77 and 69, but gained valuable experience.
