My email bin has been gradually filling up with news items that might not necessarily warrant a full story, but are certainly worthy of mention in the paper.
By far the oldest item dates to late June when I received an email about the Shelley C. White Jr. Trust Foundation. DeDe Duncan-White, Shelley’s widow, informed me that Annapolis High graduate Dayshawn Womack would be receiving a $1,000 scholarship in July and was hoping the paper could provide some coverage of the presentation.
I thought Womack, who played football for the Panthers and was hoping to continue his career at Wesley College, would be an excellent candidate for the Teen of the Week feature.
