The 2015 Military Bowl generated nearly $17 million for a the Annapolis/Washington region, a new report found.
The football game has been held in Annapolis for the past three years and that has generated a more than $47 million in direct economic impact on the region, according to the report prepared by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau.
This year’s Military Bowl attendees spent $4.1 million on lodging, $3.3 million each on recreation and retail,$3.1 million on food and beverages and $2.6 million on transportation from Dec. 26-28. The event also supported nearly 8,000 jobs.
