Several of the Nashville Predators’ younger or less experienced players have excelled during the team’s preseason contests. Some, including Alexandre Carrier and Frederick Gaudreau have received due praise from the fans and media. However, there is a young defenseman who has arguably played better than either of those guys. That player is 19-year-old Samuel Girard.
Girard has managed just one point in his three contests so far, assisting Austin Watson’s goal in Tampa Bay. In terms of shot generation, however, the defenseman exceeds expectations by a huge margin.
