If the Nashville Predators want another dynamic two-way defenseman, Jake Bean is a viable option for the Predators at the 17th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. A standout with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL, the well-rounded blueliner is exactly the type of player that the Predators would love to develop into a Top 4 defender.
With the likes of Anthony Bitetto being promoted to the main roster and the recent departure of developmentally disgruntled Taylor Aronson to the KHL, the Predators prospect pool for defensemen is starting to look rather shallow. If Bean happens to fall to Nashville at #17, he could very well be the best pick available for Dave Poile if the Predators can’t find who they’re looking for at the forward position.
