Wyoming basketball: Brodricks Jones transfers in from UTEP

Power forward Brodricks Jones announced Thursday that he will be transferring from UTEP to Wyoming. Jones will have to sit out a year but will be eligible to return for the 2017-18 season with three years of eligibility left.

Coming out of high school, Jones was a national top-100 recruit according to Rivals.com. Jones initially signed with Mountain West power San Diego State, but chose on UTEP later in the process. Jones averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds during his senior year Lawndale while taking his team to the CIF Division II State Tournament.

Jones did not make a huge stamp for UTEP his first year as a reserve, averaging 1.
