The San Jose State Spartans made a stop in WisePies Arena to face the New Mexico Lobos and left with a 78-68 win Saturday.
The Lobos jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a 10-0 run in less than five minutes into the first half. San Jose State forward Brandon Mitchell swooped in and blocked a Lobos forward to end New Mexico’s early run.
The Spartans pulled within three when freshman guard Terrell Brown made his second straight start, throwing a successful layup at the 11:49 mark.
Spartans sophomore forward Ryan Welage dialed from deep twice to make it a one-point game at 7:51.
