Since joining the Mountain West, Nevada had never beaten San Diego State; that was until last night. Nevada out shot, out-rebounded, and out-hustled the Aztecs and wound up pulling out a 72-69 win at the Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack moved to 13-3 (2-1 in Mountain West play) on the season while the Aztecs dropped to 8-6 (0-2).
Both teams started off slow and through the game’s first 12 minutes they were shooting a combined 13-44 (29.5%). The Wolf Packstarted to gains some momentum and ended the half on a 12-4 run to take a 35-31.
In the second half Nevada came out with intensity and started out on a 7-3 run to extend their lead to eight.
