The Aztecs (2-0) finally claimed their first victory over the Bruins (0-2) in program history.

San Diego State was led by quarterback Ryan Agnew, who threw for 293 yards and completed 23 of his 31 pass attempts. SDSU scored one touchdown through the air, which came on a 34 yard pass to wide receiver Kobe Smith.

Smith had an outstanding day as he caught seven passes for 131 yards. Jesse Matthews brought down five passes for 59 yards. Both receivers were huge contributors to the Aztec offense as they accounted for 190 yards of the total 293 passing yards.
