Sports Illustrated released its top 100 scoring projections Tuesday morning. Trey Kell, the San Diego State junior guard, was pegged in the 98 hole on the list.
SI projects Kell to score 13.8 points per game this season, a 1.2-point increase from this past season. He is also projected to finish with an offensive efficiency rating of 109.8.
Despite two other notable scorers in the Mountain West this season in Tim Williams (16.8 PPG) and Elijah Brown (21.7 PPG), both did not appear on the top 100 rankings.
Kell and his Aztec team also received some high praise this morning from ESPN’s Dick Vitale, who placed SDSU 23rd on his preseason top 40 list.
