Reports: 49ers expected to fire Jim Tomsula

Jim Tomsula is expected to be a one-and-done coach.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After their season finale Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, the 4-11 San Francisco 49ers are expected to fire first-year head coach Jim Tomsula, as first reported by Pro Football Talk.

The 49ers will finish the season in last place in the NFC West for the first time since 2005, and haven't had 11 losses since 2007 with Mike Nolan as head coach.

Tomsula, of course, replaced enigmatic head coach Jim Harbaugh, who became the first head coach in NFL history to reach the conference title game in each of his first three seasons.
