Add another big name to the 49ers' search for a head coach.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - On the fourth day of their coaching search, the San Francisco 49ers interviewed Chip Kelly, as first reported by CSN Bay Area.
Kelly, 52, was fired from the Eagles Dec. 29 after going 6-9 and missing the playoffs. Kelly went 10-6 in Philadelphia during his first two seasons after jumping to the NFL from Oregon, where he was the head coach for four seasons and reached the BCS Championship game in 2010.
He inherited a 4-12 team and took it to the playoffs his first year in 2013, but lost in the first round at home to the New Orleans Saints.
