The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is reporting that Hawaii’s star wide receiver John Ursua will miss the rest of the 2017 season with a torn ACL in his right knee. Ursua suffered the injury against San Jose State this past Saturday.
Ursua was having a breakout season, with 667 receiving yards on the season, good for sixth nationally in receiving yards per game at 111.2.
Ursua’s impact was illustrated by his inclusion on the mid-season Biletnikoff award watch list. Hawaii was campaigning for their star receiver on social media for the award. The loss of Ursua for the season is obviously a big blow to a team already dealing with a lot of injuries.
