After three seasons of supporting and standing behind David Quessenberry, the Texans made the tough decision to waive the offensive lineman with a non-football injury designation. After clearing waivers, the Texans placed him onto the NFi list so the organization holds his rights as a player heading into the 2016 season.
On April 20th, the Texans reworked Quessenberry’s rookie deal to include a full split salary of this base salary if he was not ready for the season. With the team placing Quessneberry on the NFi, his salary will be $333,000 for the 2016 season. The organization and coach, Bill O’Brien, are holding out hope that Quessenberry can and will be ready for the 2017 season.
