Omaha transfer Tre’Shawn Thurman commits to Nevada

Omaha transfer Tre’Shawn Thuman has committed to Nevada, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported Thursday afternoon.

Thurman, who spent his first three season with the Mavericks, averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while converting 50.3% of his shots. He also ranked among the national leaders in offensive and defensive rebounding percentage, block percentage and free throw rate this past season.

At 6-7, 220, Thurman should be a force in the Wolf Pack frontcourt when he becomes eligible. Due to NCAA rules, Thurman will have to sit out the 2017-18 season. He will be set to play for UNR beginning in the fall of 2018.
