Nevada’s Brandon Talton named Mountain West Special Teams Player of Week

Nevada placekicker Brandon Talton was named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Talton nailed all three of his field goal attempts — from 22, 23 and 52 yards out — as well as all six of his extra points in Nevada’s 51-20 thrashing over intrastate rival UNLV on Friday. His 52-yard field goal was the second-longest field goal conversion of his career.

Monday marks the second time he’s earned the conference’s special teams player of the week honor in 2021. He earned his first after scoring 15 points (four field goals, three PATs) in the Wolf Pack’s 41-31 win over Boise State on Oct.
