Change is coming. The talk is at least 8 teams but many are clamoring for more. Many, especially in the SEC, are pushing for 12 teams and some are even thinking 16. 12 teams would likely mean 6 auto bids (The Power Five conference champions and the top-ranked Group of Five team) along with 6 at-large bids. However, the SEC wants as many at-large bids as possible, hoping to stack the playoff with their teams.
