The first day of the Mountain West tournament is in the books with San Jose State being eliminated in the opening round game, 7-4, against San Diego State, and in a gut-wrenching way. The Aztecs won on a walk-off grand slam to stay in the tournament.
The Aztecs went on to fall to Nevada in the night cap, 13-6, and the other game saw Air Force take care of UNLV with their bats and won in an outcome that could reflect a low scoring football game, 15-7.
On Friday, top seeds Fresno State and New Mexico take to the field in the afternoon and evening games, and there is one elimination game in the morning between UNLV and San Diego State.
