Las Vegas Bowl Recap: Donnel Pumphrey breaks FBS rushing record, leads Aztecs past Cougars

The San Diego State Aztecs (11-3) dominated the Houston Cougars (9-4) during a 34-10 victory in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday afternoon.

Early on, the Cougars controlled the pace and finished a 10-play drive with a field goal. This drive was followed by a 2 yard touchdown by QB Greg Ward Jr. that put the Cougars ahead 10-0. Meanwhile, the Aztecs were unable to produce any rhythm on the offensive end. Specifically, the No. 2 ranked rushing defense limited the Aztecs to -7 rushing yards and only five total yards in the first quarter.
