Former Nevada assistant coach Dave Rice has signed with the University of Washington, multiple sources reported Tuesday afternoon.
Rice was the assistant at Nevada under Eric Musselman for the 2016-17 season, guiding the Wolf Pack to its first-ever Mountain West title.
The UNLV grad formerly coached the Runnin’ Rebels, notching a 98-54 record and two tournament appearances in four seasons before mutually parting ways with the university last January after an 0-3 start to conference play and a dwindling roster.
Known as one of the best recruiters in the country, Rice will bring his abilities to a rebuilding Washington program which released its longtime head coach Lorenzo Romar earlier this offseason.
