Perhaps the Denver Broncos pursuit of quarterback Colin Kaepernick was ill-fated. Or perhaps the football gods simply didn't smile upon the match.
Whatever the case, the Broncos acquired their quarterback of the future on Thursday night, when Memphis's Paxton Lynch began to plummet through the first round to within striking distance of John Elway.
The Broncos packaged a trade with Seattle to move up and take Lynch. Now with three quarterbacks on the roster — Lynch, Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian — some fans are left wondering what will happen with the Kaepernick pursuit.
