Davie suspension set

The University of New Mexico football team will move on with spring football practice minus their head coach.

UNM announced that head coach Bob Davie will begin his 30-day unpaid suspension on Saturday and run through March 18.

In his absence, defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove was named acting interim head coach and will assume Davie’s duties during ongoing spring drills, UNM Athletics Director Eddie Nunez announced Friday.

“I want to emphasize that our commitment is to cultivate a culture built upon respect and transparency at this University,” UNM President Chaouki Abdallah said in his statement Friday outlining the details of the suspension.
