Denver, CO- With the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos addressed one of the most glaring needs on their roster, selecting Missouri guard Connor McGovern to help bulk up an offensive line that struggled mightily at times during Denver's Super Bowl season.
McGovern had been graded by many scouts as a potential third round pick. General manager John Elway was clearly pleased to be able to select him two rounds later than anticipated.
"Connor McGovern, our 5th round pick from Missouri, is a tough, intelligent and athletic guard," Elway tweeted following the pick.
