Akron grad transfer Antino Jackson commits to New Mexico

Akron grad transfer Antino Jackson has committed to New Mexico, according to his Twitter page Wednesday afternoon.

Jackson, who spent his first three seasons with Akron before graduating, averaged 8.8 points per game last year. He shot 40.8% from the field and converted on 49 three-point attempts.

The Houston native, standing at 5-11, should be immediately thrusted into the Lobo rotation. With the loss of star guard Elijah Brown, who is considering many powerhouses programs this spring as a transfer, Jackson can help bolster the UNM backcourt.

Jackson will have one season of eligibility remaining, which will be the 2017-18 season.
