2017 Mountain West tournament: San Jose State gets blown out by Utah State

Mountain West Madness has begun for the San Jose State Spartans, who faced the Utah State Aggies at Thomas & Mack Center on Wednesday morning.

Ryan Welage scored the first five points for the Spartans, who held a 5-4 lead over the Aggies at 15:59 of the first half.

SJSU continued to apply pressure on Utah State as Jaycee Hillsman dominated on both ends of the court. The Spartans pulled within one when Brandon Mitchell rose for a dunk and swished for a three less than four minutes later.

The Aggies went on a 11-0 run, but the Spartans ended Utah State’s dominance as Brandon Clarke scored four consecutive points with 3:51 left in the half.
