Even with growth in QB play, the Titans struggled to win games (3-13) for the second straight season. Tennessee missed the playoffs in each of their last seven years. Their defense had growth as far as yards allowed (12th – 27th in 2014), but they failed again in points allowed (423 - 27th) which was 15 points fewer than 2014. Mike Mularkey returns as head coach after taking over the job mid-season from Ken Whisenhunt in 2015. He went 2-7 last year while posting a losing resume as a head coach in his NFL career (18-39). Mularkey has 22 years coaching of experience in the NFL.
