Nigel Reo-Coker parts ways with Montreal Impact

Nigel Reo-Coker's time in MLS has come to an end as the Montreal Impact terminated his contract with mutual consent on Friday.

The 31-year-old midfielder played in 28 games for Montreal last season. He was credited with two assists in 20 starts.

A former fixture in the Premier League with West Ham, Aston Villa and Bolton, Reo-Coker joined MLS in 2013 with the Vancouver Whitecaps, and spent 2014 with Chivas USA before joining Montreal.

"The club wishes him the best in his future endeavours," said a brief statement on the Impact's official website.

Last summer, sources had told ESPN FC that Crystal Palace were lining up a move for Reo-Coker, who was previously club captain for Palace boss Alan Pardew at West Ham.
