Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays Montreal Canadiens fans! This time last year, the team was out of the playoff race, and Shea Weber had been unofficially shut down. It’s a lot more positive this time around.
Weber is back and in his old scoring ways (5 goals and 3 assists in 13 games), and the Habs have been in the top eight for the majority of the season. They’ve hit a few bumps in the road along the way, but Montreal is still to that second-last wild-card spot. The only teams who seriously have a chance at threatening for it are the New York Islanders who have come back down to Earth over the past couple of weeks.
