The 2019-20 season was meant to be a big one for Victor Mete. He was entering the final year of his entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens and had the number two spot next to Shea Weber locked up in training camp. Even though Mete was going into his third NHL season without a goal to his name, the window of opportunity to cash in was large and inviting.
Mete did manage to tick off some of those milestones for himself. The 21-year-old scored the first of four in Montreal’s 4-0 win over the Minnesota Wild.
