Sylvain Lefebvre has been removed from the role of head coach of the Montreal Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
Lefebvre was brought in by Marc Bergevin during the organization’s fresh start ahead of the 2012-13 season, and was behind the bench for AHL affiliates in three different cities: the Hamilton Bulldogs for his first three seasons, St. John’s IceCaps for the next two, and finally the nascent Rocket for the 2017-18 campaign.
In their inaugural season, the Rocket went 24-42-7-3, finishing last in the league with 58 points in 76 games, and ending the year without a victory in their final 12 games.
