One Timers: Josh Brook and his offensive warpath

Moose Jaw Defenceman on the War Path:
When the Montreal Canadiens selected defenceman Josh Brook in the second round of the 2017 draft, they expected a certain amount of offence out of the big, slick-skating rearguard, but even the most optimistic of Montreal’s scouting staff could not have envisioned the pace that Brook would set to start this season.

Following these weekend’s contests, Brook now has 27 points through his first 18 games of WHL play, giving him a ridiculous 1.5 PPG average to date, good for 27th overall in league scoring.

Among WHL defenceman, Brook ranks third in total points and second in PPG, behind only Ty Smith of the Spokane Chiefs, who was just selected 17th overall in the first round of this year’s NHL draft by the New Jersey Devils.
